Mary Immaculate College is delighted to announce details of this year’s Alumni Reunion which will take place on Saturday 5 October 2024 from 2pm until 5pm.
MIC's Alumni Reunion 2026 takes place on Saturday 3 October. Those who graduated from the classes of 1956, 1966, 1976, 1986, 1996, 2006 and 2016 are invited to return to MIC to reconnect with classmates, revisit the lecture halls and classrooms, and to explore archive materials and photos from down through the years.

Dell Technologies Limerick recently hosted the ninth annual MIC Dell VEX Robotics Competition, welcoming over 400 primary school students and their teachers from 23 schools across Limerick, Clare, and Tipperary. Delivered in partnership with Mary Immaculate College (MIC), the Mid-West VEX IQ Regional Final gives young learners the opportunity to showcase their robot which they had spent months designing, building and coding. Teams competed in robot skills and teamwork challenges, working collaboratively to solve problems and score points.
Mary Immaculate College (MIC) in partnership with the Embassy of France in Ireland, has launched a new scholarship initiative to support the next generation of primary teachers to undertake immersive language training in France.
Mary Immaculate College and the Gaelic Players Association are delighted to announce an extension to the MIC GPA Sports scholarship scheme. Originally introduced in 2021 for a three-year period the MIC GPA Sports Scholarship is open to Gaelic Players Association (GPA) members who are undertaking postgraduate study at MIC. Under the revised scheme, successful applicants can avail of fee waivers of up to €4,600 per annum.

The Culture and Climate Action Conference, which will take place on Saturday 23 February, draws on the academic excellence in climate from MIC’s Geography Department and follows the Hunt Museum’s emphasis on showcasing Ireland’s pioneering spirit regarding renewable energy resources in its ongoing Night Candles are Burnt Out exhibition.
Mary Immaculate College and the Ambassador of Ireland to the USA, H.E. Geraldine Byrne Nason recently hosted a gathering of educational partners in Washington DC. Close to 100 guests were present at the event at the Ambassador’s residence, including the Presidents and representatives of MIC’s partner universities, who were also attending the annual meeting of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) in the American capital at that time.

Mary Immaculate College (MIC) and the University of Limerick (UL) came together this week to celebrate Ireland’s remarkable legacy as a global pioneer in university-level modern language education. The event was the third in a four-part national series leading up to next year’s milestone anniversary: 250 years since Trinity College Dublin (TCD) first established professorships in French, German, Italian and Spanish in 1776—positions that laid the foundations for modern language study in Irish higher education. The final event in the series will take place in TCD in 2026.
