Learn about the Department of Mathematics & Computer Studies at MIC, which was founded in 1975 to provide a subject programme in Mathematics for the newly established Bachelor of Education degree. Today, the Department continues to offer specialized elective Mathematics modules for the B Ed degree, as well as undergraduate Mathematics modules for the BA (Liberal Arts).

In honour of her lifetime contribution to the arts in Ireland, Imogen Stuart RHA was awarded the McAuley Medal from Mary Immaculate College in 2010, presented by the then Uachtarán na hÉireann, Mary McAleese. This honour, the McAuley Medal, is the highest award that can be bestowed by the College. It is named in memory of Catherine McAuley, the founder of the Catholic Sisters of Mercy, whose outstanding dedication to the most marginalised members of the community continues to inform the College’s ethos.

The Master's in Media Studies at MIC is an innovative programme that offers students the opportunity to study a wide range of contemporary media topics at an advanced level. These include streams in Film Studies, Audio Studies & Cultural Studies. All courses are taught by experienced researchers with practical knowledge of the industry and the small group sessions facilitate collaborative learning, both theoretical and practical.
