Mary Immaculate College (MIC) is thrilled to announce the launch of the highly anticipated Regeneron Future Scientist Exhibition—an engaging and interactive initiative designed to ignite a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in young minds.
Officially launched by Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Patrick O’Donovan TD, on 8 November the exhibition, proudly supported by Regeneron, coincides with Science Week 2024, amplifying its impact as a national celebration of innovation and discovery.
With this timely alignment, the exhibition aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators by offering an exciting and immersive experience for young learners. Located on MIC Limerick’s John Henry Newman campus in the CRAFT Maker Space, the exhibition is specifically designed for primary school pupils and families from Limerick and the broader Mid-West region.

During a public talk held on 9 February as part of a series of lectures celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of Arts at MIC, Associate Professor Dr Loïc Guyon (Head of the Department of French Studies at MIC and Honorary Consul of France for the Midwest Region) presented for the first time in public the results of over two years of research as part of the Sarsfield Homecoming Project.

Learn about Self Issue/Return of Books at MIC library. There are self service machines on the ground floor of the library where you can borrow and return your loans. Two are in the area in front of the downstairs Service Desk. Standard and 3 Day loans can be issued and returned here. The third machine is in the Short Loans area and it is specifically for the issuing and returning of the 4 hour loans. The machines will issue a receipt for your transaction which you should keep for your records.
The College President (an tUachtarán) is Chief Executive of Mary Immaculate College and the senior management team comprises of four Vice-Presidents with different areas of responsibilities, and the Deans for the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Education.
The Department of Arts Education and Physical Education and MIC’s theatre artist in residence, Liam McCarthy—in collaboration with Lime Tree Theatre and Bualadh Bos Children’s Festival—are running a unique one-day workshop this week for educators and theatre artists interested in creating drama/theatre with children and young people with special needs.
