The Professional Doctorate in Educational and Child Psychology (DECPsy) is a highly sought-after three-year, full-time professional training course for applicants interested in pursuing a career as an educational psychologist. This course will equip applicants with the necessary competencies to work in a range of autonomous and collaborative professional roles that are performed by educational psychologists (EPs) in a variety of contexts and with a range of client groups. The overall aim of the DECPSY programme is to enable students to effectively integrate theory and practice and become skilled and accountable professional practitioners.
The Professional Master of Education (Primary Teaching) is a two-year, full-time Level 9 postgraduate professional teacher education programme designed to qualify graduates as primary teachers. A key element of the PME is practice-oriented inquiry where students interrogate experiences and forge new understandings, integrating educational theory and practice through structured reflection and research applications. The programme is designed to equip student teachers with the cognitions and competencies necessary to develop creative and flexible approaches to teaching in different contexts and settings embracing pupils with diverse and often complex needs.
Mary Immaculate College is running an exciting and innovative Level 8 Special Purpose Certificate in Professional Mentoring for Early Childhood Practice (through one 15 credit module) from September 2021. This module considers the concept of mentoring in the context of early childhood education and care settings and empowers participants to apply the principles of mentoring within their practice in settings. Funded by the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, this programme is free of charge to all participants.

Professor William Leahy, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Mary Immaculate College (MIC), has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Brunel University in recognition of his services to the London based University.
Hosted in partnership by Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick and Technological University of the Shannon, and in association with the National Academic Integrity Network, this conference will explore the relationship between Generative AI and Academic Integrity within the Higher Education (HE) sector.
