National Forum Projects

About

The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education is the national body responsible for leading and advising on the enhancement of teaching and learning in Irish higher education.

The forum works with those who teach, learn and shape policy and practice to ensure a valued and informed teaching and learning culture in Irish higher education.

They focus on the professional development of all those who teach, teaching and learning in a digital world, teaching and learning within and across disciplines, and student success.

The National Forum provides funding for projects and initiatives that reflect and support the enhancement and transformation of teaching and learning at both a national and European level.

MIC has a long history of conducting research under funding from the National Forum. The current round of funding comes under the banner of Strategic Alignment of Teaching and Learning Enhancement (SATLE) projects, which are a collaboration between LEAD and the named academic in each description.

Flexible Pathways Professional Development

This collaborative project between Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick and Limerick Institute of Technology will develop pathways for those who teach in higher education providing opportunities to gain credits for formal and informal learning and through the recognition of prior learning.

The pathways will be mapped to the professional development framework. Staff can work towards a blended graduate certificate in HE academic practice with pathways to level 10 doctoral qualification by publication.

For more Information on this project, contact LEAD.
