Applied linguistics, with specialisation in the use of Corpus Linguistics to explore areas such as Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis, Learner Corpora, Learner Grammar and Media Discourse. Director of Inter-Varietal Applied Corpus Studies (IVACS) Research Centre.
