Discover the Bachelor of Arts (International) at MIC, which is a four-year, full-time, honours degree but can be shortened to three years in the case of some international applicants. If you are pursuing the four-year programme, you will spend your third year off-campus on a work placement or studying abroad.
The Bachelor of Arts is a four-year, full-time, honours degree (Level 8). At MIC the programme is flexible and wide-ranging. Students study four different major subjects in First Year and focus on two of these in Second Year, which they will then continue to study to degree level as joint honours.
The Bachelor of Education - International is a four-year, full-time, honours degree (Level 8) designed to qualify students to be primary teachers, with the addition of an international study component. Accredited by the Teaching Council, it seeks to equip participants with the competence to teach at all levels of the primary school. Reflecting the College's well-established reputation for excellence in teacher education, this programme enables students to examine their role as a learner, a teacher, a researcher and a leader. It comprises on-campus study and school placement, and also gives students the opportunity to specialise in specific areas in education or the liberal arts. The BSc Psychology is a new four year, full-time honours degree (Level 8). This unique programme provides a comprehensive undergraduate education in Psychology and includes learning in the workplace. This blend of scientific theory and real-world application gives students a chance to develop incredibly valuable critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills.

Mary Immaculate College is saddened to learn of the passing of Most Rev. Donal Murray, who served as Chairperson of the MIC Board of Trustees and An tÚdarás Rialaithe from 1996 to 2009.
Bishop Murray was born in Dublin in 1940, attended Blackrock College, Dublin, obtained his BA and Masters in Philosophy at UCD, his B. Div. at Maynooth and his License and Doctorate in Theology at the University of St Thomas, Rome. He was ordained as a priest in 1966.
He lectured extensively in theology and ethical issues, beginning in Mater Dei Institute of Education in 1969 and became Professor of Moral Theology at Clonliffe College in 1970. In addition to the above positions, from 1973 to 1982 he lectured on Cathechetics in UCD, and from 1978 to 1982, he lectured in Medical Ethics in the same institution.
Bishop Murray also authored three books and numerous articles, booklets and in the areas of theology, ethics and social issues.
