The MIC Ladies’ Footballers bring Giles Cup back to the College

The Mary immaculate College (MIC) Senior Ladies’ Gaelic Football team has brought the Giles Cup back to the College as 2025 champions, following a decisive win against University College Dublin (UCD).

The AIG Giles Cup final took place 15 March 2025, with MIC Limerick defeating UCD with a score of 3-9 to 1-8. It was MIC’s fourth time to claim the title since 2010, having won in 2012, 2014, 2022 and now 2025. MIC player Lydia McDonagh, who scored two goals, was named Player of the Match.

The Giles Cup is the second division Ladies’ Gaelic Football championship for higher education institutions.

Congratulations to all involved including players, coaches, mentors and backroom staff.
