The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission have developed a new eLearning module, called Equality and Human Rights in the Public Service to support and enable staff within public bodies to understand and meet their obligations under the Public Sector Equality and Human Rights Duty (Public Sector Duty).
This module is a way to support public bodies to implement the Public Sector Duty. The module is suitable for all public sector staff, across all grades and functions. The protection and promotion of equality and human rights is core to the work of public servants. We all have an obligation to contribute to implementing the Public Sector Duty.
GOSHH are providing free training days for professionals who are working with LGBTI+ Young People in the Mid-West.
Some of the key learning goals of the day include:
- Building confidence to facilitate LGBTI+ discussions
- Increase capacity to support clients/service users who identify as LGBTI+
- Identify & become familiar with best practice guidelines & policies
- Learn to identify Homophobic & Transphobic behaviour
- Build capacity to support individuals who are experiencing discrimination on the grounds of their gender and/or orientation
- Explore how gender and orientation impacts the experience of individuals in society
The workshop has elements of facilitated discussion, participatory learning, and personal development. Methodologies include large and small group work, individual reflection, group discussion and audio visual learning aids.

EDI Glossary of Terminology
This EDI Literacy Glossary is an Athena Swan Ireland project led by an expert group of academics, EDI practitioners and higher education staff.
It is a resource to support understanding of inclusive approaches to equality work in higher education and research in Ireland.
