MIC Graduation Ceremonies will take place on Thursday 24 & Friday 25 October 2024. Graduation Ceremonies 2024 will be live-streamed so that families, friends and staff can view the ceremonies online.

LINC Programme Graduation 2024
MIC's annual Graduation Ceremony for LINC Programme (Certificate in Leadership for INClusion in the Early Years Programme) took place on Saturday 19 October, 2024 at 11:30am in the Lime Tree Theatre in the TARA building.

Registration for the LINC Programme Graduation Ceremony is now closed.
Each graduand who will be attending their conferring ceremony is entitled to up to a maximum of three guest invitations, depending on availability, for the LINC Programme (Certificate in Leadership for INClusion in the Early Years Programme) conferring ceremony, which takes place on Saturday 19 October, 2024. Information in relation to your seat number and guest tickets for the LINC Programme Graduation Ceremony will be emailed to you in advance of the ceremony itself.
Please note that once the venue has reached capacity having an invitation will not guarantee entry to the Lime Tree Theatre and your guests will be seated in an adjacent venue, T118 in the Tara building, where the proceedings can be viewed on screen.
To ensure the comfort of families, children and other guests, it will also be necessary to seat parents with young children (under 6) in T118 which is adjacent to the Lime Tree Theatre. It is not necessary to have an invitation to gain entry to this venue.

In order to take part in the Graduation Ceremony, graduates must wear the appropriate academic robes.
All graduates must pre-book robes with the official robe-makers, Phelan Conan Limited before Midnight Wednesday 16th October 2024. Robes may be pre-booked on line at www.phelanconan.com. The pre-paid hire fee is €43 or Pay on the day hire fee is €45.
The pay on the day hire fee can be made by scanning our QR code on the day. Cash will not be accepted.
Due to the implementation of a personal 3D secure password during the credit card payment process on https://www.phelanconan.com Phelan Conan Ltd staff are no longer able to take bookings over the phone. This has been created to protect your online payments and if you don’t already have a 3D secure password you can activate it by following the simple instructions during the booking process. If you experience any further problems with 3D secure process, please contact your bank.
Collecting Robes:
Once booked, you can collect your robes in Room T107, Tara Building on the MIC Campus at the following times:
- Saturday 19 October 2024 8.30am to 10.30am
Returning Robes:
All robes must be returned by 2pm on Saturday 19 October 2024, following the ceremony.

You will be required to be present in the appropriate academic dress and seated in the correct place at least 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the ceremony.
Lafayette Photography is the official photography provider for MIC graduation ceremonies. These services will be available from 9am, until approximately 90 minutes after the ceremony has concluded. For the best experience on graduation day, it is strongly advised to pre-book your photography online at www.lafayette.ie/graduation/book
It is strongly advised to pre-book your photography online as early as possible. Online booking will close at 12 noon the day before your graduation day. There will be no payments accepted on the day of your graduation and all the bookings must be pre-ordered.
Lafayette Photography will send you your order receipt via email and you can present the QR code to Lafayette Photography staff on the day of your graduation.
Studios will be open on Saturday 19 October 2024 from 9am, until approximately 90 mins after the ceremony has concluded. It is important that you check in with Lafayette Photography registration desk to collect your docket first. You will then be directed to the assigned studio. Details of the packages available can be seen on the Lafayette Photography website.
Lafayette Photography is the official certificate framing provider for Mary Immaculate College. The certificate frames may be booked online by visiting the frame shop.
If you have any difficulties booking your photographs, please check the FAQ section of the Lafayette Photography website.
There will also be press photographers hired by MIC, wearing official badges, at the conferring days as well as photographers taking photos on behalf of local media outlets. If you do not wish to have your photo taken, please make this clear to them.
Brian Crossan provides a framing service on the day.
He has been providing the framing service to Mary Immaculate College for over 20 years.
The product is a high quality Irish frame.
The best seller is a wooden frame with a black mould and gold trim. We will have other mouldings to choose from on the day .
There is no need to pay in advance. Frames will be available for everyone that wants one on the day.
There will be a number of stalls at the graduation.
The price is €25. Cash and card accepted.

Any Graduands in the need of special accommodations or assistance who are attending the conferring ceremony are requested to contact Graduation@mic.ul.ie prior to Thursday 10 October, 2024.

Once parking has reached full capacity on the College grounds, no additional cars will be allowed on campus. Due to the limited parking facilities on campus grounds and the large numbers attending conferring ceremonies, on-campus parking spaces will be at a premium throughout Thursday 24 and Friday 25 October. Once parking has reached full capacity on the College grounds, no additional cars will be allowed on campus. Please ensure that you allow yourself adequate time in order that you are seated in the conferring venue 30 minutes in advance of your ceremony.
Please note;
- There will be no access to the College through the main gate on South Circular Road.
- Entry to the campus will be from the entrance on Ashbourne Avenue (opposite Ashdown Centre).
- Limited disc parking is available on the South Circular Road, directly outside the main College gates.
- Summerville Avenue will be a one-way system (no access from the Dock Road to South Circular Road via Summerville Avenue). Gardaí will be towing away illegally parked cars.
- You are advised not to leave items of value in your cars while attending the Graduation ceremonies.
Please do not park in Ashtown Commercial Centre. This is a private commercial site with clamping in operation.
As a result MIC has organised a FREE Park & Ride Facility with an overspill facility located at the Limerick Greyhound Stadium (Greenpark, Dock Road, Limerick, V94 Y17X). A complimentary shuttle service will be in place for those parking at the Limerick Greyhound Stadium, with buses departing every 15 to 20 minutes to and from the MIC Limerick Campus. In order to plan your timely arrival please note that the journey from the Greyhound Stadium to the College will take approximately 8 minutes (subject to traffic).
Please note: The gates to the Park & Ride will be locked at 8.30pm sharp. Any vehicles left in the car park after 8.30pm will be locked in over night and at the owners risk.

Car Park at the Limerick Greyhound Stadium will open at 8.15am and closes at 8.30pm.
Shuttle bus will depart from the Greyhound Stadium every 15 to 20 minutes, or earlier if the bus is full, with the last shuttle bus departing MIC at 7.30pm.

Times: 10am & 3pm
Car Park at the Limerick Greyhound Stadium opens at 8.15am and closes at 8.30pm.

Please note, if your guests are attending with a child/children under the age of 6, they will not be seated in the main venue (TN.3), but instead in TN.1, where they will be able to view the livestream on a big screen. Guests will enter via a different entrance.

Invitations can be collected when collecting your robe.
It will not be possible to admit anyone to the main conferring hall without an official invitation.
Those arriving earliest will be seated in the main conferring venue (TN3). Individuals arriving after the main venue has reached capacity will be required to sit in an adjacent venue (TN1) where the proceedings can be viewed on a screen. Guests without invitations will also be accommodated in this venue. To ensure the comfort of families, children and other guests, it will also be necessary to seat parents with young children (under 6) in TN1.
Due to the large number of people to be accommodated and stringent fire safety regulations, additional invitations will not be available.

Robe Collection & Drop-off Times
Robes can be collected from the Student Lounge in the Tara Building at the below dates and times, it is strongly advised to collect the evening prior to your ceremony to ensure you have sufficient time on the day of your ceremony.

- Collect robes on Wednesday 23 Oct between 4pm – 8pm OR Thursday 24 Oct between 8am – 10am
For those attending the Thursday 24 October 3pm ceremony
- Wednesday 23 October between 4pm – 8pm OR Thursday 24 October between 11am – 2.30pm
For those attending the Friday 25 October 10am ceremony
- Thursday 24 October between 3.30pm – 6.30pm OR Friday 25 October between 8am – 9.30am
For those attending the Friday 25 October 3pm ceremony
- Thursday 24 October between 3.30pm – 6.30pm OR Friday 25 October between 10.30am – 2.30pm
All gowns must be returned to Phelan Conan in the Student Lounge, Tara Building by 6.30pm on the day of your ceremony.

Lafayette Photography is the official photography provider for MIC graduation ceremonies. These services will be available from 2 hours before your ceremony until 30minutes before your ceremony. The studios will re-open after your ceremony. For the best experience on graduation day, it is strongly advised to pre-book your photography online at https://www.lafayette.ie/graduation/book
It is strongly advisable to pre-book your photography online, as early as possible. Online booking will close at 12 noon the day before your graduation day. On the day bookings can be made using your mobile phone and the Lafayette team will be onsite to assist with bookings. Cash payments can also be made on the day.

If you are unable to attend your conferring ceremony, you will be able to inform the college of this via online registration and you will be conferred in absentia. Your parchment will be posted to you at your college-registered home address unless otherwise requested. You can request it to be sent to an address other than your college-registered home address by emailing Graduation@mic.ul.ie. Please provide your full name, ID number and programme in the email.
The names of Graduands who are not in attendance may or may not be called out depending on the circumstances
Unfortunately, conferrings cannot be deferred.
Your parchment will be presented to you at the Graduation Ceremony or posted to you at your college-registered home address unless otherwise requested.
Yes. If you wish to receive your parchment as Gaeilge, that is possible.
If the Gaeilge parchment is requested in addition to an English parchment there will be a charge of €60.

Each ceremony can be of different duration. However, the average duration of a ceremony is typically 2 hours.
A maximum of three guests will be permitted in the main venue. Ceremonies will be also live-streamed so that families, friends and staff may view the relevant ceremony. Please note, to ensure the comfort of families, children and other guests, it will also be necessary to seat parents with young children (under 6) in TN1 which is adjacent to the main venue. It is not necessary to have a ticket to gain entry to this venue.
