Mary Immaculate College Awarded Athena SWAN Institution Bronze Award
On 18 March 2020, the awardees from the November 2019 round of Athena SWAN assessment panels were announced including MIC, which attained the Institution Bronze award on its first attempt.
Following 18 months of data-gathering, gap analysis and self-assessment, leading to the development of a strong and ambitious Action Plan, MIC is committed to implementing the four-year action plan and would work towards renewing the Bronze award in 2023 with department level awards to be submitted in the interim.
Highlights of the plan include the appointment of academic merit-based promotional posts, the development and implementation of a flexible working policy, the introduction of a workload model, the delivery of EDII, unconscious bias and interview training.
