Introduction of Level 9 Programmes
While Mary Immaculate College had been offering postgraduate diploma programmes since 1979, it was not until the linkage with the University of Limerick that the College was authorised to offer postgraduate degree programmes.
Inspired by the new freedom, the College embarked on postgraduate work immediately. The first taught Masters programme in Education was launched by Dr Walsh, President of UL, on 23 February 1996.
This offering continued to grow and expand over the next two decades with MIC today offering in excess of 30 postgraduate programmes in education and the liberal arts.
